Miscanthus varieties thrive in moist to average soil and in full sun. Narrow leaved cultivars can tolerate drought better than wider blades. These grasses like long hot summers and may not bloom in fall in these conditions are not met. They add great winter interest but should be cut down early spring to make way for new growth.

Narrow, gold bands go up the foliage. Plant has a finer texture and plumes are held high above foliage.
