Commonly known as Beebalm. this variety has a red flower that looks like a firecracker. Monarda grows best in average to moist soil. Full sun but they are tolerant of partially shaded areas. Powdery mildew is a common fungal problem, although new cultivars are more resistant. Planting in areas with air flow will lessen the chance of getting powdery Mildew. Deer resistant. Attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Has a fragrance and needs consistent moisture.
